Role Purpose
As a Truck Driver at Bidvest Facilities Management, you’ll be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of various items—including documents, equipment, merchandise, and sometimes even people—between company offices and our clients. Your day-to-day duties will play a vital part in ensuring our operations run smoothly and our customer service remains top-tier.
What You’ll Be Doing
Each day in this role offers variety and meaningful interactions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Mail Services: Fetch company mail from the post office and ensure it reaches the correct departments.
- Employee Transport: Occasionally, you may be tasked with transporting employees to and from regional offices.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain a detailed logbook that tracks all deliveries and collections, including tracking numbers and time stamps.
- Office Support: When you’re not on the road, you’ll assist with basic administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, shredding, and assembling document packs.
- Printer Maintenance: Help ensure the smooth operation of office printers by loading paper, replacing toners, and reporting malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Communication: Keep a message book updated to ensure accurate messages are delivered promptly to the right team members.
What You Bring to the Table
To thrive in this role, we’re looking for someone who combines driving expertise with a strong work ethic and a willingness to support the team both on and off the road.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Senior Certificate)
- A valid South African Code 10 or 14 Driver’s License
- Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
- Comfortable using GPS and reading maps
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle issues (fault-finding)
Desirable Training & Certifications:
- First Aid Certification
- On-site safety and operational training (including SOP adherence, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), and Fatigue Management)
